Bishop Stephen Bennefield is the President and Financial Administrator of Apostolic Ministries Incorporated, and is the Pastor of Greater New and Living Temple of the Apostolic Faith. He is also the Jurisdictional Bishop over North Carolina and Eastern PA and the Assistant Pastor of Greater New and Living Way Temple of the Apostolic Faith, the headquarters church for Apostolic Ministries. Bishop Stephen Bennefield was born on June 6, 1956 to Holy Ghost filled parents, Honorary Bishop William H. Bennefield Sr. and the late Sister Ruth Bennefield, who nurtured him in the way of holiness.
He gave his heart to the Lord and repented of his sins at 8 years of age and later received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at age 10. At age 22, after learning deeper truth through Bishop Alvin McCoy, Bishop was water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. About a year later in 1979, God linked Bishop Bennefield together in ministry with Bishop McCoy and Apostolic Ministries was founded. Bishop married Geraldine L. Jordan in 1984 and is the father of one son, Stephen Jr., stepfather of four children, grandfather of ten, and great-grandfather of three.
Bishop was employed by the Farrell Area School District and held the position, Director of Technology. He was a Microsoft Certified Professional and holds both an Associate Degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Science from Thiel College in Greenville, PA. In addition to all his other responsibilities, Bishop is in his second four-year term as Farrell City Councilman; he is Chairman of the Farrell Human Relations Commission; and he is a member of the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission.Bishop Bennefield completed three years of ministerial training through Full Gospel Bible Institute of Farrell.
Formerly an ordained elder of the church, he was later consecrated a Bishop of Apostolic Ministries and is currently serving as Jurisdictional Bishop over North Carolina and Eastern PA. He has been the long time Assistant Pastor and Financial Administrator of the local church and is currently President of Apostolic Ministries, Inc. Bishop Bennefield has worked faithfully in ministry for 35 years under the wise leadership of Bishop Alvin McCoy, his spiritual father, Chief Apostle and Founder of Apostolic Ministries, Inc.
Most important to Bishop Stephen Bennefield is the winning of lost souls by preaching the saving message of Acts 2:38 and Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
