In Mark 5:30-43 it speaks of a synagogue leader and his gravely ill daughter, however as Jesus was making his way to the house of the Jairus he encountered another. Mark 5:25-26 (KJV) says “And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of physicians, and had spent all that she had, and nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.” Have you ever encountered an issue, for which it seemed there was no remedy? It’s a place of severe distress, but what I love about this passage is when she heard of Jesus, she began to hope again. Proverbs 13:12 states “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” It was the hope (expectation) of healing which caused the woman to stretch her hand forth, and her faith in Jesus which brought about her healing. This is James 2:26 in action “For the body without the spirit is dead, so is faith without works.” With all that happened, Jesus still knew his assignment wasn’t done. Jairus was informed his daughter was dead, but Jesus said “…Be not afraid, only believe. (Mark 5:36b)” Sometimes you have to clean your surroundings to focus on what you’re requesting from God. Even here, Jesus removed those who didn’t believe. Jesus began to expose his thoughts towards the child when he said “Talitha cumi; which is interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.”
(Mark 5:41) People (Doctors, friends, family, etc.) will expose their thoughts, whether they are good or evil for you; but what will you believe? Take Jesus’ thoughts and become one with them, for they are the only constant ones; and when you do watch the fruit come forth. The Scribe
